The sage was known for his wisdom and insight, but he was also impermeable to criticism and resistant to change. His loquacious nature often led him to pontificate (自负地说话) for hours on end, denigrating those who dared to question his authority. But one day, a young apprentice challenged him to consider a new perspective, and the sage realized that he had been too set in his ways. From that day forward, he made a conscious effort to listen more and speak less, to open his mind to new ideas, and to recognize that impermeability to change can be a barrier to growth and enlightenment.
