「重要发音技巧」
Welcome back. I’ll teach you some important pronunciation tips.
欢迎回来。我会来教同学们一些重要的发音技巧。
1. 失爆 连读: won’t happen, happen again
对话中:I promise this won’t happen again.
I promise this won’t happen again.
2. 失爆 连读 FlapT: just that, that I
对话中:It’s just that I...
失爆分析:当两个单词相邻时,前一个单词词尾是爆破音,后一个单词开头是辅音的时候,这时前面的爆破音不发出声音,稍作停顿。比如这里的just that /dʒʌstðæt/(/t/为爆破音,/ð/为辅音)。
连读分析:当两个单词相邻时,前一个单词词尾是辅音,后一个单词开头是元音的时候,可以作辅元连读。比如这里的that I /ðætaɪ/ (/t/是辅音,/ aɪ/是元音)。
Flap T分析:连读基础之上,/t/在两个元音音标之间且非重读,所以/t/可以读为一个很轻的/d/。
复述:It’s just that I...
「核心单词掌握」
I saw some great words in the dialogue, so it’s time for our vocabulary. Today I’m bringing you three words.
我看到对话里有一些很棒的单词,所以现在我们来讲解一下词汇。今天我们会来一起学习3个单词。
The first word is “decency”.
第一个单词就是 “decency”。
1. decency /ˈdiːsnsi/ n. 得体,合乎礼仪
It means polite or moral behavior.
它其实就是指礼貌或道德行为.
dialogue里女主说:
And you didn’t even have the decency to call me!
你甚至都没有想到给我打个电话。
短语搭配:
didn’t have the decency to do sth.
是指不得体,用来表示不满
例如:
He didn't even have the decency to apologize.
他竟然没有诚意道歉。
Our next word is “priority”.
我们的下一个单词 “priority”。
2. priority /praɪˈɔːrəti/ n.优先事项(经常使用复数 priorities)
So, priorities are something that’s really important in your life.
所以,优先事项在你的生活中是非常重要的。
Like family or maybe work or making a lot of money.
就像家庭或者工作或者挣很多钱。
dialogue里的女主说这一句表达很实用:
You need to get your priorities straight.
你需要把你个人事情的轻重缓急分清楚。
短语搭配:first priority 头等大事
Okay. And our last word for today “head”.
好了,我们今天最后一个单词 “head”。
3. head /hed/ v. 朝(某方向)行进
Let’s listen to a couple of examples of how it’s used, so we can understand its meaning.
让我们来听几个例子,看看它的用法,这样我们就能理解它的意思了。
例如:
I don’t know where our relationship is heading.
我不知道我们的关系会往哪里发展。
Where’s this project heading?
这个项目的方向是什么?
So, basically heading means going.
所以这里面heading的基本意思是朝某方向走。
「实用口语表达」
Okay, I saw some great phrases in the dialogue that people use when they’re getting in a fight.
好了,我在对话中看到了一些很棒的短语,当人们在争执的时候会使用的短语。
The first phrase that I wanna take a look at is “get a hold of”.
我今天要讲的第一个短语是“get a hold of”。
1. get a hold of... 与……取得联系
To get a hold of someone means to try and communicate with that person.
与某人取得联系的意思是试着和那个人沟通。
So, to try and call that person.
所以试着打电话给那个人。
例如:
I’ve been calling his phone all day, but I can’t get a hold of him.
我打了他一天的电话,但是联系不到他。
And our second phrase is “Do you have any idea?”
我们要讲的第二个短语是 “Do you have any idea?”
2. Do you have any idea? 你有什么想法吗?
This is a great way to set up an argument.
这是建立论点的好方法。
So, let’s listen to some examples of how you would set up an argument using this phrase.
那么,让我们来听一些例子,看看如何用这个短语来建立一个论点。
例如:
You forgot my birthday, do you have any idea how angry I am?
你忘了我的生日,你知道我有多生气吗?
I just broke up with my boyfriend. Don’t you have any idea how sad I am?
我刚和男朋友分手,你不知道我有多难过吗?
So, it’s a great phrase to make that person understand that you’re really worried or really angry.
所以,这是一个很好的短语,可以让那个人明白你真的很担心,或者很生气。
Okay, let’s move to our third phrase “stand me up”.
好的,我们现在来看第三个短语 “stand me up”。
3. stand me up 放我鸽子
dialogue里面用到的 “stood me up”, “stood” 是单词 “stand” 的过去分词 (同时 “stood” 也是 “stand” 的过去式)。
The phrase “stand someone up”, when do we use this?
“放我鸽子”这个短语,我们什么时候使用?
For example, you have a date and you don’t go.
比如,你有约会,却没去。
So, let’s say Mary and Tom were supposed to have dinner together.
所以假设Mary和Tom本来约好一起吃饭的。
And Tom just didn’t come and didn’t call.
Tom就是没来也没有打电话。
那Mary可以这样说:
He stood me up.
他放我鸽子了。
And our last phrase for today “take a break”.
我们今天最后一个短语 “take a break”。
4. take a break 分开一下
So, when a couple takes a break, they sort of stop their relationship.
所以,当一对情侣分开一下,他们是停止他们的关系。
They’re breaking up.
他们分手了。
They’re saying, “Let’s just take some time away from each other.”
他们说“让我们分开一段时间。”
For a couple of days or weeks and see what happens.
分开几天或者几个星期, 看看会发生什么。
Okay, so, our happy couple in this dialogue is going to take a break.
好的,所以我们对话里这对快乐的情侣要分开一下。
Now, it's time for us to review what we've learned today.
现在我们来回顾一下今天所学习的,要跟上我一起来认真回顾,思考起来。
