美本申请-推荐信之各类问题

在大学申请中，美国的申请最麻烦，GPA，标化，活动，竞赛，文书，还有推荐信！

尤其是推荐信，其他国家基本都不要，就美国要。而且美国还不止要一封，要一堆！我们来细数下推荐信的类型。

在美本申请中，

1. 一定要有的是康色的推荐信。

2. 大概率还需要1-2封学科老师，如果两封，一般是一文一理。

3. 另外还可以有其他人的推荐信，可以是教练，科研导师，实习的主管等等。

4. 有些学校还会让同学写一封推荐信，他们会注重你在同学眼中的特点和同学相处的关系等。

开始准备申请的时候，就要物色能够帮你写推荐信的老师了。

写推荐信有几点需要提醒：

1.写推荐信老师的第一要素是他的职位，和你的关系以及相处的时间。比如下面几封开头：

例一：

I had the pleasure of teaching Sara in her 11th grade honors English classat Mark Twain High School.

例二：

It is a great pleasure to recommend Stacy for admission to your engineering program. She is one of the most exceptional students I have encountered in my 15 years of teaching. I taught Stacy in my 11th grade honors physics class and advised her in Robotics Club.

例三：

It is hard to overstate the meaningful contributions that William has made to our school and surrounding community. As both his 10th and 11th grade History teacher, I've had the pleasure of seeing William make profound contributions both in and out of the classroom.

例四：

It is my pleasure to recommend Joe, who I taught in my 11th grade math class.

2.一开头明确的表达了自己的职位，和学生的关系，以及相处的大概时间段。同时要注意，在文后的结尾署名，最好和开头表达要一致的，比如例一到例四的结尾分别是：

例一：

Sincerely,

Ms. Scribe

English Teacher

Mark Twain High School

例二：

Sincerely,

Ms. Randall

Physics Teacher

Marie Curie High School

例三：

Sincerely,

Mr. Jackson

History Teacher

Martin Luther King, Jr. High School

例四：

Sincerely,

Mr. Wiles

Math Teacher

Euclid High School

3. 如果可以用学校官方的邮件发这封推荐信，那就更赞了。如果不行，建议用学校或者所在机构的信纸打印出来，手工签名，扫描传上去。

有些普高的老师，可能不会自己写英文，可以扫描中文原件 邮件翻译稿，注明这是哪个机构或者哪个老师翻译的，千万不要是自己翻译的就行。不过，这种做法目前不多了，老师都会英文了，呵呵。

4. 接着要说下推荐信的主要内容部分，主要内容部分其实不同老师有不同的分工，康色建议表达学生品格，个性特点等，因为美国的康色一般是不上课的，只关心学习以外的事情。

学科老师最好重点提本学科和学生相关的学习态度，学业成果，以及对学生的品格特征的评价。

我发现中国老师的推荐信有时候喜欢全面，德，智，体，美，劳恨不得都要说到好话，其实这是很没有必要的，一封信里面，只要有一两个闪光点就够了，千万别搞太多，太多了，AO会觉得虚伪奉承，这个尺度一定要把握好。老外的推荐信，有时候还会直白写一些孩子的缺点，让人感觉真实。因为，理论上讲，这些推荐信，学生本人是看不见的，所以，老师怎么表达都是可以的。

5. 最后，讲结尾，一般老外的推荐信的结尾，都简单明了，一写出喜欢的学生的特点，二表达自己推荐的理由。同时一般还会留下自己的联系方式，以确认需要继续联系可以交流，给大家看前四封信的结尾部分吧，看深色字体，这些就是希望AO能够认同的东西。

例一：

I am certain that Sara is going to continue to do great and creative things in her future. I highly recommend her for admission to your undergraduate program. She is talented, caring, intuitive, dedicated, and focused in her pursuits. Sara consistently seeks out constructive feedback so she can improve her writing skills, which is a rare and impressive quality in a high school student. Sara is truly astand-out individualwho will impress everyone she meets. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions atcallmeclemens@gmail.com.

例二：

Stacy has my highest recommendation for admission to your engineering program. She has demonstrated excellence in all that she puts her mind to, whether it's designing an experiment, collaborating with others, or teaching herself to play classical and electrical guitar. Stacy's endless curiosity, combined with her willingness to take risks, leads me to believe there will be no limit to her growth and achievements in college and beyond. 例三：

William believes passionately in social progress and working for the common good. His own personal experiences, along with his profound grasp on social history, drive his advocacy work. He is a talented, intelligent student with the charisma, confidence, strong values, and respect for others to make a huge difference in the world around him. I'm looking forward to seeing all the good that William continues to do for his fellow humanity in college and beyond, as well as the excellent work that he will produce at the college level. 例四：

Joe is a trustworthy, reliable, good-humored student and friend who supports othersin and out of the classroom. He was a pleasure to have in class, and his positive attitude and belief in himself, even in the face of difficulty, is an immensely admirable asset. I'm confident that he will continue to demonstrate the same diligence, perseverance, and optimism that he showed myself and his peers. 推荐信在美本申请的材料中是不可或缺的，重要性不言而喻。所以，选对人，写对信很重要。国内的推荐信，两大误区一定要在此提醒下：

1.找职位高，权力大的人写推荐信。

思路是不错，但是没有和学生有效的接触，他没有办法客观评判和判断孩子的品格和能力，所以，第一点交代时间，关系的时候会有缺陷。

2. 写成表扬信，全方位表扬，一旦给AO看出来各种表扬，有时候会觉得虚伪，可能会降低推荐信的价值。

另外，如果方方面面都表扬，那更要不得了，你没发现美国的superman也会被刻画成为有缺点的superman，是人就是这样，所以，集中表扬一两个点，有时候略微提一些无伤大雅的缺陷也是可以的。
